At least once a year, and before any long trip. Wheel bearings, brakes, tyre age, the gas system and 12V electrical are the usual failure points, and most of them deteriorate while the caravan stands, not while it drives.
Between R1,500 and R5,000 depending on scope: bearings, brakes, gas and chassis inspection. A gas certificate of conformity (COC) alone usually runs R400 to R800. Basic service packages start around R949 at some workshops.
