Learn how Kampi's Listing Health system works and what you can do to rank higher in search results, get more bookings, and earn more from your camper.
If you've been on Kampi for a while, you know the drill - list your camper, wait for requests, hope for the best. But have you ever wondered why some listings get booked constantly while others sit quiet?
It's not luck. It's not magic. And it's definitely not just about having the newest listing.
We've built a system called Listing Health - a score out of 100 that tells you (and our search algorithm) how well your listing is performing. The higher your score, the more visible your camper becomes to renters searching on Kampi.
Think of it like a fitness tracker for your listing. And the good news? You're fully in control of your score.
This isn't about punishing anyone. It's about rewarding owners who put in the effort - and making sure renters find reliable, well-managed campers when they search.
Let's be honest about the problem. With over 360 published listings on Kampi, we needed a better way to decide which campers appear first in search results.
Our old system showed the newest listings first. Great if you just signed up. Not so great if you've been a loyal Kampi owner for three years, built up glowing reviews, and suddenly found yourself buried on page 12.
The new system fixes that. Your position in search results is now based on how well you manage your listing - not when you created it.
Here's what the data showed us:
The pattern is clear: owners who actively manage their listings earn more. Listing Health simply makes that visible - and rewards it.
Your score is calculated from eight factors, each weighted differently. Here's the breakdown, from most important to least:
This is the big one. Your acceptance rate measures how many booking requests you approve versus how many you decline or ignore.
Every time a renter sends you a request and you decline it (or worse, just let it expire), that's a person who took the time to plan a trip, chose your camper, and got turned away. Many of them never come back to Kampi.
How to improve it:
Pro tip: Owners with 90%+ acceptance rates score nearly full marks on this factor. That's an extra 27 points on your health score right there.
Your average review rating matters. Renters trust other renters, and great reviews signal a great experience.
How to improve it:
Once a booking is confirmed and paid, does the trip actually happen? This measures your reliability as a host.
How to improve it:
How thoroughly have you set up your listing? A complete profile gives renters confidence and helps them make a decision faster.
The completeness checklist:
We require four documents per listing, and they need to be approved (not just uploaded) to count toward your score:
Right now, only 9% of listings have all four documents approved. That means 91% of owners are leaving easy points on the table. Each approved document is worth 7.5% of your completeness score - get all four approved and you've just picked up a massive boost.
Documents are verified by our team. Upload clear, legible copies and approval is usually quick.
When did you last update your listing or calendar? Active owners who regularly manage their availability score higher here.
How to improve it:
A small bonus for having more reviews. This isn't about gaming the system - it's about rewarding campers that have a proven track record.
This one works in reverse - cancelling confirmed bookings hurts your score. Every major rental platform treats host cancellations as a serious issue, and so do we.
Zero cancellations = full marks. It's that simple.
A small thank-you to owners who've been with Kampi from the early days. The longer you've been on the platform, the more points you earn here.
But here's the thing - loyalty alone won't save a poorly managed listing. An owner with 5 years on the platform but a 20% acceptance rate will still rank below a newer owner who manages their listing well. And that's fair.
Your Listing Health score falls into one of four tiers:
Here's the reality from our data: listings in the "Good" tier generate over 73% of all platform revenue. Getting your score above 60 isn't just a vanity metric - it directly translates to more bookings and more income.
Your Listing Health score and detailed breakdown are visible on your Owner Dashboard. You'll see:
The score updates daily for behavioural metrics (acceptance rate, reviews, cancellations) and instantly when you complete your listing profile (upload documents, add photos, update your description).
Listing Health gets you organic visibility - the better your score, the higher you appear naturally. But if you want to supercharge your exposure, we offer two promotion options:
Your listing gets a "Sponsored" badge and is boosted to the top of search results on page one. Up to three sponsored listings appear per search page, randomly rotated for fairness.
This is perfect for:
Your camper appears in the "Featured Campers" section on the Kampi homepage - prime real estate that every visitor sees. Only 8 featured slots are available at any time.
This is ideal for:
How promotions work:
Important: Promotions give you extra visibility, but they work best when your Listing Health is strong. A promoted listing with poor reviews or a low acceptance rate still won't convert as well as one with a great track record.

Listing Health isn't complicated. It rewards the basics: be responsive, be reliable, keep your listing up to date, and treat your renters well.
The owners who do these things consistently are the ones who earn the most on Kampi. Now, with Listing Health, that effort is directly reflected in where your camper appears in search results.
Your camper deserves to be seen. Give it the best chance by keeping your Listing Health strong.

It is a score between 0 and 100 that reflects how well your listing is set up: photos, description completeness, response rate, calendar hygiene, and review quality.
From your acceptance rate, response time, calendar updates, review average, photo count, and description completeness. The exact weights are tuned regularly.
Keep your calendar up to date, reply to requests within 24 hours, accept where you can, add 10+ photos, and fill in every description field.
