Most of Kampi's campers are based in Gauteng. Pretoria and Johannesburg between them have more listings than any other province. Makes sense when you think about it: hitch up on a Friday afternoon and you're in the Bushveld by dinner time. Kruger is 5 hours up the N4. The Drakensberg is a morning's drive down the N3. Even the coast is doable for a long weekend. You'll find caravan rentals ranging from lightweight popup trailers (no EB license needed) to big touring caravans with full kitchens, hot showers, and aircon. Pickups are spread across Pretoria, Joburg, Centurion, and the East Rand, check the listing for the exact spot.

From Gauteng you can go pretty much anywhere. N1 north gets you to the Waterberg and Limpopo bushveld. Bela-Bela is barely 90 minutes. Keep going and you'll hit Kruger via Phalaborwa (5 hours from Pretoria). N4 east takes you through Nelspruit to the Lowveld and Mozambique. N3 south drops you in the Free State or KZN. N14 west? Kalahari and Northern Cape. For quick weekend trips, the Magaliesberg is right on your doorstep, good camping, great braai spots. Hartebeespoort Dam and Pilanesberg are both under 2 hours. Even the Cradle of Humankind is a short drive from Pretoria.
