Caravan Rental near Weesgerus, Modimolle

Weesgerus Holiday Resort is 3 km outside Modimolle (formerly Nylstroom) in the Waterberg area of Limpopo. It's been running since 1980 and covers 58 hectares. The caravan park has around 155 stands, all with electricity. Five swimming pools (three outdoor, two heated indoor), a super tube, and a 3-kilometre hiking trail keep the family busy. It's about 130 km from Pretoria, straight up the N1.

Weesgerus has well-planned caravan stands with water taps, braai areas, and refuse bins at each site. Communal ablutions have hot water, showers, baths, and flushing toilets. There's a scullery, washing machine, and tumble dryer. The pool setup is the highlight: three outdoor pools (lukewarm for kids, hot and cold for adults) plus two heated indoor pools for winter. A super tube adds some speed. There's a 3 km hiking trail through the bushveld, putt-putt, tennis, volleyball, jukskei, pedal cars, and fishing on the property. Around 50 bird species and several antelope species make it more than just a resort. An a-la-carte restaurant and bar are on site. The Nylsvley Nature Reserve is nearby for top-class birding (the largest floodplain in the southern hemisphere), and the wider Waterberg Biosphere offers game reserves and zipline adventures.
