Tsitsikamma is where ancient forest meets wild ocean — towering yellowwood trees, a dramatic rocky coastline, and the famous suspension bridge over the Storms River Mouth. The SANParks rest camp has caravan stands in the forest, a stone's throw from the Indian Ocean. It's one of the most atmospheric camping spots in South Africa. The Otter Trail starts here (SA's most famous multi-day hike), and even if you don't hike it, the Mouth Trail to the suspension bridge is a must-do. About 6 hours from Cape Town, it's the eastern end of the Garden Route.
The Storms River Mouth rest camp is the centrepiece — walk the boardwalk through the forest and across the suspension bridge hanging over the river mouth. The water is deep green and the rock formations are dramatic. The Waterfall Trail (3km return) and the Mouth Trail (1km) are easy walks suitable for all ages. Kayaking and tubing on the Storms River Gorge are popular. The Big Tree loop trail takes you past an 800-year-old yellowwood. Bloukrans Bridge (the world's highest commercial bungee jump, 216m) is nearby on the N2. The Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour lets you zip-line through the forest canopy.

Yes. The SANParks rest camp at Storms River Mouth has caravan stands in the forest with power hookups and ablution blocks. The setting is incredible — forest, ocean, monkeys. Book on SANParks.
About 600km — roughly 6 hours on the N2. From Plettenberg Bay it's about an hour. Most people visit as part of a Garden Route road trip.
Walk the suspension bridge trail (everyone does it — it's free with your park entry), the Waterfall Trail, kayak the gorge, do the Canopy Tour, or just sit on the rocks and watch the waves crash in. Bloukrans bungee is 40 minutes away if you want the adrenaline version.
There's a small tidal pool at the rest camp — cold but refreshing. The open ocean is too rough for swimming. The gorge offers sheltered swimming spots if you kayak in.
